Starting from 2006, the Austin Buddhist Vihara has been a guiding light for our community, offering essential spiritual resources and valuable services to local Buddhists, children, and the wider Austin area. Since our founding, the consistent monthly generosity of our local community has been the cornerstone of our ability to maintain the Vihara and provide our essential services. Building for the Future
As our community flourishes, our current space is becoming increasingly limited. To better serve the growing needs of our Sangha and visitors, we have begun the exciting process of planning and designing a renovation and rebuilding project. This expansion will allow us to host larger gatherings, offer more diverse programs, and enhance our ability to serve the community. The Sri Sumanajothi Scholarship Fund: Empowering Education
Since 2007, the Austin Buddhist Vihara has proudly supported the Sri Sumanajothi Scholarship Fund which had made a significant difference in the lives of underprivileged students in rural Sri Lanka. Through the dedicated contributions to this fund, we have been able to provide crucial financial assistance to over 50 students each year, enabling them to access education and build brighter futures.
